what we love about being parents

Joel and I were getting ready this morning, and were discussing the things about being a parent that just make you smile...like finding a toy in your slipper, finding a truck in with the pots and pans...or yesterday my son finding a big box of tampons in my vanity drawer, Joel told him "those are mommy's," so then he said "take to mommy." He brought them straight to me and gave me them, and I think was pretty proud too.
When people told me at the beginning when we brought our newborn home that it just gets better and better, it is so true. I'm constantly smiling and in awe of God and how he created Kaleb, with his love for nursery rhymes, Starfield(Hosanna), trucks, food and hats.
God is so good to us everyday.

Busy

Hi everyone!
I realized it has been quite some time since I've spent much time on here, my January has flown by with birthday celebrations, showers, among many other things I also have been attempting to sew like made. I posted a few pictures of items I've been sewing, but you can also check out my other blog to see the rest of the items. I have not got much interest from my blog, however I'm sure it is only because very few know about it...I guess I should change that now. I did however post picture of products on facebook a week or so ago to see if I'd generate any interest, and I did! I was very happy, and also overwhelmed by it too! Just that I needed to get a move on in my sewing. Anyways, I just wanted to drop a note, and now it is time to go spend with my hubby!

wow...Christmas went quick

Hey everyone!
Just on lunch break, but I realized that I have not posted anything in practically a month! I had to make sure I remembered how to log in, and espcially my password! I guess that lets you know how busy this past month has been in our house, and I must say I'm thankful for life to get back to normal. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...and Happy New year too!
Joel is doing a worship event at our church tonight- it should be wonderful! So if you are still looking for something to do,what a great way to bring in the New year- worshiping God!
I on the other hand will home with Kaleb, and will be making homemade cinnamon rolls- all night, so you know what we'll be eating all day tommorow! Yumm!
Gotta go back to work, but will be back here soon!

why is hard to relax?

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but sometimes I have the worst time relaxing! I have to force myself to sit down and put my feet up. I began thinking about this morning, as I'm tired because well the Christmas season is just a little draining, as we try to cram as much fun stuff into one entire month...maybe we should spread out that Christmas Joy and start in July? Christmas in July...I like that. Anyways, I just want to do too much, sew, cook, clean, and of course make time for the one's I love.(I don't really want to clean though :)
I set down with my bible in hand and a cup of coffee this morning. It was nice. I felt God was teaching me that it is good to set and rest. I have a hard time doing that. Set and rest in him and listen, instead of always just doing. Anyone else have a hard time with that? I'm marking that on my new years resolution list!

new years resolutions in the works

For the past few years I had the desire to do some kind of business out of my home. I've tossed around many ideas, and I finally came up with one that I'm gonna try out. I have always enjoyed creating, designing, and sewing...so that is what I'm going to do. I have started an additional blog that is call "My little cupcake-Baby gear"...I'd say check it out, but I don't have much on there but the logo as of now. I labeled the title of this entry "new years resolution..." because this year, I'm actually gonna do something with my creativity! It's my resolution!
This past weekend I ventured out into the crazy shopping and bought a large amount of fabric and notions on sale, and plan to sew up a whole slew of different baby items including bibs, burp cloths, blankets, bags, breastfeeding covers, passi- holders...ect. I'm really excited, and a little anxious at the same time. I just want to keep my self motivated by the idea, and I think I may have something that will keep me interested and I'll love.
I'm gonna sign-off for now, but that is what has been on my mind and heart the past while. I'm just praying for God's leading and direction.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hi everyone...we are at my in-laws having a nice lazy thanksgiving. The food was wonderful, and as usual I ate too much.
Joel and I have been having problems with our internet/phone the past week, so I thought I'd squeeze in a Happy Thanksgiving while I can...we may not have internet till Saturday! What did we do with out internet? So if you are trying to reach us, my cell is the best!
I have much to be thankful for- so thank-you God, you are always good! Anyways, I just wanted to wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Home on a saturday night

Joel is not quite home from service tonight. I decided I work on my blog a little bit...so what do you think?
I was feeling nostalgic looking at old pictures of Joel and I, and Kaleb as a newborn. It is hard to believe my baby is almost 19 months! We took him to the Dr. this week for his 18 month check, and he weighed in at 32lbs! Wow, he was greater that 95th % for weight, and his head and height came in at the 90%. Yes he is a big boy!
Joel and I went out today, just the two of us...it had been too long, and made me realize we really need to go on more dates together. It is easy to get wrapped up in daily life, and forget to make time for each other. So if I can encourage any of you is to make sure you spend time with your spouse today...do something fun together. And with that I'm gonna sign-off...nigh-night for now.
